How to Love Your Body

Our bodies are our temples. They literally carry us through our lives, and we spend all of our alive-time in them.

Most of us however have not been given tools to actually have a loving and caring relationship with our body. We spend time disconnected and our relationship is far from being empowered. From this situation, how can we take steps towards loving and connecting to our bodies again?

One of the first things to do is to develop a mantra or a saying that can signify to you the relationship you are about to build. For example " I give my body proper nutrition". Or "I take care of my body, it is my temple." The most important thing is to make sure that whatever you come up with, would inspire you. For wonderful inspiration, check out these Louise Hay´s mantras on Youtube.

If you have developed a vision for yourself, the next step is to think of a small action you can take today to deepen that relationship with your body and proclaim your love towards it. It could be as small as doing 5 minutes of yoga today. Remember to approach whatever you choose gently - you do not want to force it, but rather approach it as a practice of showing your love towards your temple.

Even though in the past your relationship with your body might have been inexistent, it is possible to create a healthier relationship starting today. You still have time. Start off with those two easy and simple techniques and feel the changes in how you approach yourself and your health. Your future you will thank you, as loving your body is one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself.
